Cherry Knoll Farm Dominates During 2016 Atlantic National Regional Preview Show

Timonium, Maryland – May 31, 2016 – Cherry Knoll Farm (CKF) and their top string of cattle had a wonderful three days at the Atlantic National Regional Preview Show. From the Junior Show to Showmanship and Bred and Owned to the Bull Show, CKF took home the coveted purple ribbons.

The show kicked off with CKF dominating the Showmanship divisions. Lexi Wright (Philippi, West Virginia) won Champion Junior Showman, and fellow CKF barn-mate Claudia Hissong (Greencastle, Pennsylvania) captured the third overall Senior Showman. Brothers Brody and Bryce Fitzgerald (West Grove, Pennsylvania) each made the Senior Showmanship finals with high marks.

During the Bred and Owned Show, Bryce Fitzgerald was Bred and Owned Champion with Cherry Knoll Erica 1544, as well as Bred and Owned Champion Spring Calf. Lexi Wright returned to the ring with Wright CKF Ellie 1594 to capture the Bred and Owned Fall Calf Championship. Claudia Hissong and Double C Rosebud 1501 secured the Reserve Summer Calf Championship, while Brody Fitzgerald and Cherry Knoll Brigade 1404 earned the Bred and Owned Junior Champion Bull.

The Junior Owned Show kicked off with Jake Smith (Cullman, Alabama) showed Cherry Knoll ArkPride 1470 to the Reserve Senior Calf Championship, closing out a fantastic show day on Saturday.

On Sunday, the Open ROV Show saw Cherry Knoll Brigade, owned by CKF and Brody Fitzgerald, earn the Junior Champion Bull. Cherry Knoll Erica 1544 returned to the winner’s circle with Bryce Fitzgerald, winning the Reserve Late Spring Calf Champion.

Capping off a fantastic Atlantic National Regional Preview Show, Catie Hope (Berryville, Virginia) won the Atlantic National Merit Award Scholarship, a coveted honor presented by the Atlantic National Angus Foundation (ANAF). The ANAF sponsors a recognition program for junior members in need of financial assistance and whom wish to continue their education. This award is based on the junior’s involvement in the Angus industry, their community and the Atlantic National Angus Show. Since the award started, the Merit Award has gifted over $100,000 in scholarships to juniors. Hope was one of only 11 to earn the recognition, and she was also presented with the Greg Krueger Memorial Scholarship, a $1,000 scholarship that is awarded to the top applicant each year.
